Why Diode Laser
Diode laser is considered one of the leading technologies for hair removal because its wavelength penetrates deeply and targets the pigment within the hair follicle while minimising damage to the surrounding skin. It is particularly effective on dark, coarse and stubborn hair, and allows larger areas to be treated quickly and efficiently.
Compared with IPL, which uses a broad spectrum of light, a diode laser delivers a more concentrated and targeted wavelength, allowing energy to be directed precisely into the follicle. With a recommended course of treatments, hair progressively becomes finer, lighter and more sparse, providing excellent long-term hair reduction.
Laser hair removal can also help reduce ingrown hairs, shaving irritation and uncomfortable regrowth — which for many clients matters as much as the reduction in hair itself.
Your Course Of Treatments
Hair grows in cycles, and a laser only affects follicles that are in their active growth phase at the time of treatment. That is why a course spaced several weeks apart is necessary rather than a single session — each appointment catches a different portion of your hair in the phase where it responds.
Most clients notice a visible reduction after the first two or three treatments, with regrowth returning finer and slower each time. Your therapist will map out a plan for your areas at your first appointment, and treatment areas can be combined in a single session.
Before your appointment
Please shave the treatment area a minimum of 24 hours prior. Do not wax, tweeze or epilate between treatments, as the hair follicle needs to remain intact for the laser to effectively target it.
Contraindications and precautions
Laser hair removal may not be suitable during pregnancy, over active skin infections, open wounds, sunburn or recently tanned skin, or when taking certain photosensitising medications. Areas containing tattoos, suspicious lesions or skin cancers cannot be treated directly.
Certain medications and medical conditions may require additional precautions, so please advise your therapist of all medications, supplements and medical conditions prior to treatment. A consultation is completed to ensure laser hair removal is safe and appropriate for you.
